Really? Is his voice not too high? I know that quibble's kind of irrelevant when you're eyeballing photos of him looking unkempt on the internet, but you still know it's there. Bit like David Beckham.

Levine beat off stiff (stop) competition from the likes of Luther actor Idris Elba, Justin Timberlake (voice also too high) and - as it happens - David Beckham to the prestigious title, as well as more - eh - unusual entries like chat show host Jimmy Fallon.

On Tuesday night's episode of The Voice, host Carson 'remember me from MTV??' Daly announced Adam's big win to the studio audience, much to the singer's laboured embarrassment. Carson was quick to take a dig at Adam's fellow coach Blake Shelton, joking that he missed out on the title this year, while Blake essentially hopped Levine, murmuring that he's 'beautiful for what's on the inside'. Those guys.

Adam - who takes the title from 2012's more obvious winner Channing Tatum - told People magazine: "As a musician, you have fantasies that you want to win Grammys, but I didn't really think that this was on the table. I was just amazed and stunned and it almost seemed like they were kidding, but they weren't, so that's cool."

The 34-year-old confessed he was looking forward to settling down with his fiancée, (it was always going to be a) Victoria's Secret model Behati Prinsloo, after popping the question in July.

If you want to look like Adam Levine, then you have to avoid shaving, while finding the time to practice yoga and spinning daily. For those of you unfamiliar with 'spinning', it involves going bananas on a stationary bike, not spinning around on the spot like some flower child on meth. I used to think it was the latter.
