Indonesian pop sensation Irma Bule had a reputation for employing a variety of daring stunts and props. So when she incorporated a king cobra into her act at a recent show, not many people were shocked by it.

What happened next though was shocking. During her performance, Bule accidentally stood on the tail of the king cobra and needless to say the snake was not impressed.

The snake bit Bule in the thigh before it was wrestled away by its handlers. The snake was not de-fanged as is usually the case with snakes used in shows like this. Bule was allegedly offered an antidote immediately after the bite but refused. She continued on with the performance for another 45 minutes before the effects of the snake bite began to take hold.

She began vomiting, then experiencing seizures. Soon she passed out before eventually dying in front of the confused and horrified audience. Bule's mother has spoken out saying that the singer usually only ever uses pythons and that the show's organisers had provided the deadly king cobra without taping it's mouth shut which she says is typically done.

“My daughter might not have known that the snake that was given to her for the show was a dangerous cobra. She was told she could wear it, even though its mouth was not closed with duct tape,”

The incident is currently being investigated by local police.
