Long before he went meandering through Middle Earth, Peter Jackson was working on rather different projects. Heavenly Creatures (not to be confused with Beautiful Creatures) tells the tale of a pair of teenage girls with overactive imaginations. The pair develop something of an obsessive bond, which soon turns nasty as their imaginations run away with themselves. A very young Kate Winslet smoulders her way through the cult classic which just so happens to be based on real life events. Creepy.
