A series set in the fictional African kingdom of Wakanda is now in development at Disney+.
Wakanda is the setting of critical and box office smash 'Black Panther'. A significant portion of the film 'Avengers: Infinity War' is also set there.
The drama is just one project covered by a major agreement with 'Black Panther' director Ryan Coogler.
Coogler's firm Proximity Media has penned a five-year overall exclusive television deal with Disney.
Coogler, who also directed the movie 'Creed', is returning to helm the 'Black Panther' sequel this year.
Under this deal, he'll develop a number of new television series for Walt Disney Company's divisions.
His first with the studio will be the currently unnamed Wakanda project.
"Ryan Coogler is a singular storyteller whose vision and range have made him one of the standout filmmakers of his generation,” said Bob Iger, executive chairman of The Walt Disney Company.
"With 'Black Panther,' Ryan brought a groundbreaking story and iconic characters to life in a real, meaningful and memorable way, creating a watershed cultural moment.
"We're thrilled to strengthen our relationship and look forward to telling more great stories with Ryan and his team."
Coogler said "it's an honour to be partnering with The Walt Disney Company."
He added: "We look forward to learning, growing, and building a relationship with audiences all over the world through the Disney platforms...

The Wakanda series will join such Marvel Disney+ shows as 'Wandavision', and the upcoming 'Loki' and 'The Falcon and the Winter Soldier'.
