If you happened to watch the finale to this week's episode of 'The Mandalorian', odds are you know about this already.

In a post-credits scene after 'The Rescue', Jabba's Palace on Tatooine is shown, with Boba Fett and Fennic Shand making their way into the audience chamber where Luke Skywalker met with Jabba in 'Return of the Jedi'. After a few quick blaster shots, killing Bib Fortuna - Jabba's assistant guy - in the process, we see Boba Fett and Fennic Shand plant themselves on the throne, with the title cards reading 'THE BOOK OF BOBA FETT' and a date set for December 2021.

Disney kept the spinoff well under wraps, with the spinoff series kept off of their announcements last week for Lucasfilm and Marvel. Obviously, details are light, but our expectation is that Tememura Morrison is back as Boba Fett, along with Ming-na Wen as Fennic Shand.

After that, however, it's anyone's guess. There's a big question mark over how exactly it was that Boba Fett found his way out of the belly of the Sarlaac in 'Return of the Jedi', and what he was doing all that time between then and this season of 'The Mandalorian'. Not only that, now that he's taken over Jabba's palace on Tatooine, does that mean he's giving up the bounty hunting business for being a full-time mobster?

The news that all of this is happening, however, comes on the very day that Jeremy Bulloch - the man who played Boba Fett in 'The Empire Strikes Back' and 'Return of the Jedi' - passed away at the age of 75.
