We've got the two-episode season premiere of 'Obi-Wan Kenobi' on Disney+ today but that's not the only news that has us spinning out in a galactic frenzy.

Here's some huge 'Star Wars' news round-up for you: Jude Law is headed to a galaxy far far away, plus we've got a release date and a first look at another spin-off series 'Andor'. Phew.

First up, let's look at this new major casting in the 'Star Wars' universe. Jude Law is set to lead a new series entitled 'Star Wars: Skeleton Crew', which is being developed by Tom Holland's 'Spider-Man' trilogy director Jon Watts. He's also got writer Christopher Ford on board, who wrote 'Spider-Man: Homecoming'.

The new series announcement was made at 'Star Wars Celebration' in California. Watts' series had the codename of 'Grammar Rodeo' for some time, a reference to 'The Simpsons' episode 'Bart on the Road' where the character makes a fake driver's license, steals a car, and takes his schoolmates on a roadtrip to the supposed Canadian 'National Grammar Rodeo'.

The 'Star Wars'/Jude Law series will be in line with this young vibe, with Thursday’s Lucasfilm panel revealing the story will follow a group of kids who are lost and trying to find their way home during the New Republic era.

Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni are executive producing, and the series begins shooting this summer.

'Star Wars' marks the latest huge franchise for Jude Law to sink his teeth into - he's already appeared in both 'Sherlock Holmes' films with Robert Downey Jr., Marvel's 'Captain Marvel', and The Wizarding World's 'Fantastic Beasts' franchise. Is Law boarding 'Skeleton Crew' a clue that the latter franchise might not be getting its planned sequels?

In other big 'Star Wars' news today, we've been treated to our first look at the upcoming 'Andor' series, headed up by Diego Luna.

The series has been given a premiere date of August 31 on Disney+ and will take place five years before the cataclysmic events of 'Rogue One'. It'll focus on Cassian Andor’s journey as the rebellion against the Empire kicks into gear.

As you'll have seen in the trailer above, Fiona Shaw appears in the final moments, with Stellan Skarsgård, Adria Arjona, Genevieve O’Reilly, Denise Gough and Kyle Soller also on board. Billed as a "spy thriller", it could be a fresh and exciting take on the traditional 'Star Wars' series we've seen so far.

'Obi-Wan Kenobi' begins on Disney+ from today.
