News coming in via Variety is that we won't be seeing anymore of Charlie Cox's 'Daredevil' anytime soon. It's believed that Disney is beginning to sever its ties with Netflix as it rolls out its own streaming service, Disney Play, in 2019.
The third season of 'Daredevil' launched on Netflix this October to very positive reviews. Arriving in 2015, the show launched Marvel's heroes on the streets.
A spokesperson for Netflix has said "Marvel’s 'Daredevil' will not return for a fourth season on Netflix. We are tremendously proud of the show’s last and final season and although it’s painful for the fans, we feel it best to close this chapter on a high note.
"We’re thankful to showrunner Erik Oleson, the show’s writers, stellar crew and incredible cast including Charlie Cox as Daredevil himself, and we’re grateful to the fans who have supported the show over the years. While the series on Netflix has ended, the three existing seasons will remain on the service for years to come, while the Daredevil character will live on in future projects for Marvel."
The cancellation of 'Daredevil' comes after both 'Luke Cage' and 'Iron Fist' failed to make it to their own third seasons before being cancelled. It's believed that poor viewing figures were the cause of being pulled from the service, however no reason was officially given by Netflix.
The final two Marvel series left on Netflix for now are 'Jessica Jones' and 'The Punisher'. Season three of 'Jones' began filming in June earlier this year.
