Mindy Kaling's coming-of-age comedy series has been greenlit for a second season.

The character of Devi Vishwakumar (played by newcomer Maitreyi Ramakrishnan) will be making a return to Netflix as her series 'Never Have I Ever' nabs itself a second season just two months after launching on the streaming service.

Mindy Kaling, who you'll know from starring and producing episodes of 'The US Office' and her own series 'The Mindy Project', brought the series to life for a generation who are keen to see much more varied representation on our screens. The storyline of the comedy series focuses on Devi, a modern-day first-generation Indian American teenage girl who is dealing with the death of her father. And she also gets herself into some typically awkward highschool teenage moments which are just top-notch and the kind of comedy you'd expect from Kaling.

New star Ramakrishnan beat out over 15,000 over actors in order to play the lead role, so the 18-year-old is certainly one to watch as she gets older. Her co-stars in the series will be returning alongside her for season two of 'Never Have I Ever', including Poorna Jagannathan, Richa Moorjani, Lee Rodriguez and Ramona Young, Jaren Lewison, and Darren Barnet.

Here's the trailer for the series in case you've haven't gotten around to watching it yet.

In light of Hollywood's (and everyone else's) recent keenness to return back to normality, many TV and film productions have managed to pick up work once more. A rake of Netflix titles has already or will resume production in the very near future, meaning that the latter half of 2020 and the whole year of 2021 is going to be absolutely bursting with content. Happy days!
