The Ted Bundy movie starring Zac Efron, 'Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile' has been bought by Netflix at the Sundance Film Festival.
Netflix will now be the home of all of your Ted Bundy fixes - how morbid.
The streaming platform has acquired the movie rights after outbidding other studios such as Lionsgate, and will be forking out $9 million for the movie rights in North America. There is also said to be international territories in the deal, so hopefully it'll make its way to Ireland too.
The Ted Bundy movie has been garnering strong reviews since its release on Sundance. Directed by Joe Berlinger, who also directed Netflix's other Ted Bundy venture 'Conversations with a Killer: The Ted Bundy Tapes;' the movie stars Zac Efron as the notorious serial killer. Lily Collins, Kaya Scodelario, John Malkovich, Haley Joel Osment and Jim Parsons also star.
In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Berlinger and the rest of the cast discussed the movie, and how they undertook their roles in a controversial movie such as this.

'Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile' had been doing the rounds at Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah for the past number of weeks. While the festival officially wrapped up on Sunday, bidding is still ongoing for some of the talented movies that were on show.
Amazon Studios also recently acquired the rights to Mindy Kaling's new comedy movie 'Late Night.' The studios bought the rights for $13 million.
Netflix are said to be releasing the Ted Bundy movie later this year, around Autumn. It's believed the streaming platform wants the movie to be considered for Awards' season.
