Sherlock Holmes is going all supernatural in a new Netflix series.
If you can imagine a TV series set in Victorian-era London, whereby supernatural occurrences are happening and it's up to a band of teens to try and solve the cases, that's exactly what 'The Irregulars' seems to be. Oh, and the iconic Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Watson also star, albeit very differently than we've seen them thus far.
Now that all of Netflix's Marvel properties are dead and gone, they've relied on the likes of 'The Umbrella Academy', 'Fate: The Winx Saga', and 'Locke & Key' to try to fill that superhero-shaped void.
Another property likely to perk the interest of those who enjoy fantasy and supernatural genres could be this new title. The eight-part series will see Sherlock Holmes and John Watson (played by Henry Lloyd-Hughes and Royce Pierreson, respectively), employ a group of young teens to do their creepier, more supernatural bidding for them.
The series will star Northern-Irish actress Thaddea Graham, Darci Shaw, Jojo Macari, Mckell David, Harrison Osterfield as the five young sleuths. Clarke Peters will play someone known as the Linen Man.
The show is inspired by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's novels, which featured the Baker Street Irregulars. Depicted in the books as a group of street kids, the detective would sometimes ask them to get information in areas he couldn't reach. Here, the gang of boys have been transformed into an older group, who will be tackling dark and magical threats without much help from Holmes.
Set in Victorian London, the series follows a gang of troubled street teens who are manipulated into solving crimes for the sinister Doctor Watson and his mysterious business partner, the elusive Sherlock Holmes. As the crimes take on a horrifying supernatural edge and a dark power emerges, it'll be up to the Irregulars to come together to save not only London but the entire world.
