Get ready to sink your teeth into one of the most peculiar love stories of the year.

After captivating audiences earlier this year at the Sundance International Film Festival, 'Fresh' on Disney+ is the psychological thriller that's got everyone talking.

The Star Original movie is here to throw out the dating rulebook, flipping the script on what dating in the modern-day really looks like. Whether you're looking for love, are happily single, or are shacked up with your partner in crime - you are going to want to take a bite out of this slightly deranged and totally unhinged feature film.

So, What's It All About?

It's always when you least expect it that you meet a potential love interest, right? 'Fresh' follows Noa (Daisy Edgar-Jones), a single woman who has had her fair share of bad dates from dating apps, when one day she encounters Steve (Sebastian Stan) at a grocery store. Following a pretty bad pick-up line, Noa decides to take a chance and give him her phone number - what does she have to lose?

Little does our main character know, she's about to discover something truly unbelievable about her new romance, one that sets her on a pathway leading to pure and utter chaos.

Who Stars In 'Fresh'?

Two TV show heavy-hitters, that's for sure. Leading the cast as Noa is Daisy Edgar-Jones, best known for her role as the strongly-spoken Marianne in 'Normal People'. 'Fresh' marks Edgar-Jones' first feature film role following her spellbinding performance in the Irish-filmed TV series. She's also known for starring in 'War Of The Worlds' opposite Gabriel Byrne (seasons one and two are also available to stream on Disney+).

Playing Edgar-Jones' enthusiastic love interest Steve is Sebastian Stan. Stan should be extremely familiar to fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as he has played the role of Bucky Barnes in a number of the superhero films, as well as sharing the small screen with Anthony Mackie in 'The Falcon And The Winter Soldier' on Disney+. He most recently played the role of Tommy Lee in the '90s dramatisation 'Pam And Tommy'.

Joining Daisy Edgar-Jones and Sebastian Stan in supporting roles will be Jojo T. Gibbs and Andrea Bang as Noa's friends Mollie and Penny.

Is 'Fresh' A Rom-Com? A Horror? A Bit Of Both?

As you can see in the trailer of the Star Original below, 'Fresh' will leave you guessing all of the way through. Initially beginning in the way any classic romantic comedy does, including cheesy one-liners and a down and out in love main character, what soon develops is anything but a happily ever after love story.

Without giving too much away - expect the unexpected. As the film develops and the two leading characters get to know each other a little better, all bets are off. The end result will see the audience be dragged into the dark and deranged depths of an off-kilter love story that you won't be able to look away from, all topped off with a sprinkling of dark comedy.

Anything Else Worth Knowing Before Watching?

As well as boasting a hypnotic cast of talent in front of the camera, there is also a strong showing behind the lens. Helmed by first-time feature film director Mimi Cave, 'Fresh' became a huge talking point following its premiere at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year in January.

The evocative thriller was produced by working partners Adam McKay and Kevin Messick ('Don't Look Up', 'Vice'), based on a script penned by Lauryn Kahn ('Eastbound & Down'), with Maeve Cullinane ('Succession') as co-producer.
