Despite some rumours to the contrary, Jeffrey Tambor is officially confirmed for the fifth season of Arrested Development.

The reason for questions surrounding his involvement stemmed from the controversy surrounding Transparent, which Tambor left after four seasons following allegations of sexual harassment. Tambor himself denied the accusations, and castmembers of Arrested Development - including Jason Bateman and David Cross - stood in support of him.

Netflix confirmed to EW yesterday evening that Tambor will appear in the fifth season of Arrested Development, following on from an announcement by the show's creator Mitch Hurwitz that new episodes are expected on the streaming service very soon.

Tambor has made no comments or statements following Netflix's confirmation as of yet.
