Neil Gaiman's Netflix adaptation has released its full cast list, and we're pretty excited for what the dark fantasy has in store for us.

Published by DC Comics, and written by Neil Gaiman, Netflix's 'Sandman' is the next big comic book-inspired series that everyone is going to be hooked on.

Arriving at some point in 2022, the original 'Sandman' comic series ran for 75 editions from 1989 to 1996. Gaiman's classic blend of mythology, historical events, and the modern-day is present here, with Lucifer, Abel, Cain, and Corinthian all playing main roles in the series.

'Game of Thrones' star Gwendoline Christie will be playing the ruler of Hell, Lucifer, and she'll be joined by her former 'GOT' co-star Charles Dance. Dance will take on the role of a man called Roderick Burgess, who is a blackmailing magician.

Also among the cast list is Tom Sturridge as Dream, Vivienne Acheampong as Lucienne, Boyd Holbrook as Corinthian, and Asim Chaudhry and Sanjeev Bhaskar as brothers Abel and Cain. Gaiman shared individual tweets of each actor and their respective on-screen character.

Expected to be another Gaiman mind-altering TV series, the official synopsis from Netflix reads: "A rich blend of modern myth and dark fantasy in which contemporary fiction, historical drama, and legend are seamlessly interwoven, 'The Sandman' follows the people and places affected by Morpheus, the Dream King, as he mends the cosmic — and human — mistakes he’s made during his vast existence."

If you've been following Gaiman's 'American Gods' on Amazon Prime, expect a similar feel here, but even darker in tone perhaps. The author is attached as an executive producer, alongside David S. Goyer ('The Dark Knight') and Allan Heinberg ('Wonder Woman').
