At 72 years of age, you'd imagine someone like Dolly Parton would be more than happy to rest on her laurels out in Dollywood and let the world of streaming and digital pass her by.
Not so, if her '9 to 5' co-star Lily Tomlin is to be believed. At a recent Netflix event for 'Grace & Frankie', Tomlin and Jane Fonda were discussing the possibility of having a mini-reunion on the Netflix show. As Tomlin tells it, Parton's a busy woman.
"We’d like to see Dolly and we keep hoping we’ll work out a schedule, but she’s just so busy,” Tomlin said, which was reported by IndieWire at the event. “She does so many things, and now she has a big show deal herself at Netflix, so I don’t know."
By all accounts, Netflix appear to be keep the show under wraps and refused to confirm the show's existence to IndieWire. In fact, Jane Fonda didn't even seem to know about it either, but Tomlin was more than happy to confirm it for her.
"Yeah, it’s a show – Sam Haskell, her partner, they’re going to do a series about Dolly’s songs, like she did with ‘Coat of Many Colors’ and all that stuff." Looks like that cup of ambition Parton had back in 1981 is still keeping her going.
