In the era of #MeToo, Time's Up, and everything else, it seems only fitting and correct that a modern remake of '80s classic 9 to 5 is underway.
Deadline reports that Parks And Recreation alum Rashida Jones is due to begin writing a screenplay with Pat Resnick, writer of the original film, with interest from Lily Tomlin, Dolly Parton and Jane Fonda to return in some capacity.
The film was a box office smash when it first arrived in cinemas, and of course spawned the well-known theme song from Parton which became a staple of her discography. On top of all that, the film was turned into a Broadway musical in 2009 and has become something of a by-word for women in the workplace dealing with sexual harassment and chauvinism.
It's early days yet and no release date has been confirmed or director attached, but if they don't have this in it some capacity, they can just forget about it.
