Chances are you've been rifling through Netflix for a new show to watch since *gestures* all of this began, and if you haven't yet given 'Grace & Frankie' a go, now's the time and this is your recommendation to do so.
Do you want something wildly escapist but also quite knowing? Like funny older women not taking shit off people? How about two icons like Lily Tomlin and Jane Fonda? Yeah, see, we're winning you over already.
Anyway, the pair of them were last on-screen together with another icon. That being Dolly Parton in the 1980 farce-comedy '9 to 5' that spawned the song of the same name. It's been a long time coming of course, but it looks as though Dolly Parton is finally going to be in 'Grace & Frankie' just as soon as she can.
"I have been trying to do 'Grace and Frankie’ for years," Parton revealed in a recent interview on ITV's 'Lorraine'. "We worked so well on ‘9 To 5’ and it’s a crazy wonderful show. We have been trying to write me in somehow so when it is safe to actually do a production, I will probably get around to doing that."
Like so many things in life, the wait just makes better. Between this, the third season of 'Succession', and cinemas reopening, this pandemic just needs to be over already.
