Delightful news has arrived pertaining to a certain Netflix romantic drama that has proven a massive hit for the streaming service.
'Bridgerton', which will shortly commence production on its second season, has been given the go-ahead for a third and fourth season.
The news was announced in a post by Lady Whistledown.
Irish star of the show Nicola Coughlan also shared the news.
Just as season one of the series saw Daphne Bridgerton (Phoebe Dynevor) in search of romance - eventually finding it with the dashing Duke of Hastings (Regé-Jean Page) - season two sees her younger brother Anthony (Jonathan Bailey) go in search of a bride.
While the storylines for seasons 3 and 4 are yet to be confirmed, it is assumed that they'll follow the structure of Julia Quinn's novels and focus on a new Bridgerton sibling's quest for love.
Don't be surprised then if one of the new seasons follows fan favourite and cynic of all things romantic Eloise (Claudia Jessie).
Could we elsewhere see Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton), having been disappointed in love before, finally realise that Penelope Featherington (Coughlan) is the one for him?
As for what we know about 'Bridgerton' season 2 thus far, there are a few things of note.
Regé-Jean Page will not be reprising his role, much to the disappointment of fans.
We also know that 'Sex Education' star Simone Ashley will play the female lead and Anthony's love interest in the new season.
