Bill Burr has voiced his thoughts on Gina Carano being fired from 'The Mandalorian', which they both starred in.

Carano was fired from Lucasfilm, the production studio behind the series, after a number of controversial social media posts. Bill Burr was asked his thoughts on what happened during an episode of "The Bill Bert Podcast".

Carano played Cara Dune on the series, a role that is reportedly not being recast, while Burr stars as Mayfeld.

The actor and comedian called his co-star "an absolute sweetheart". He also expressed concern about the trend of cancel culture on social media.

"It’s a weird time….Unless she did some truly horrible sh** or said overtly racist sh**," Burr said regarding Carano. "I don’t know. I think there is just too many channels.

"And then you gotta do sensational sh**…I don’t know what the f**k it is. I’m on that f**king show. Now, I gotta watch what the f**k I say."

Speaking further about the MMA fighter turned actress, he added: "She was an absolute sweetheart. Super nice f**king person.

"And you know whatever and somehow someone will take this video and they’ll make me say something else and try to get rid of my bald action figure…

"It’s how it is out there. It’s f**king crazy times. People just waiting, laying in the weeds."

The action figure comment was in reference to Hasbro cancelling the Cara Dune action figure after Carano was fired.

Regarding cancel culture, Bill Burr also noted: "Now it’s becoming like, ‘Hey you made an ignorant comparison. (flushing sound) There goes your dream, right? I look at that and it’s like, 'Who the f**k stands up to that?'"

Carano's controversial media posts commented on mask wearing and voter fraud. She also reshared a Tiktok which compared the current political divide in America to Nazi Germany.

After being fired, she released a statement reading: "I am sending out a direct message of hope to everyone living in fear of cancellation by the totalitarian mob.

"I have only just begun using my voice which is now freer than ever before, and I hope it inspires others to do the same.

"They can’t cancel us if we don’t let them."
