Get your Baby Yoda AKA "The Child" plush toys at the ready because it looks like we'll be seeing plenty more of him and the rest of the characters from the 'Star Wars' spin-off series on Disney+.
Surprising no-one but still making us squeal with joy at the announcement, 'The Mandalorian' season three is already in development. Sources close to the project have said that work is already well underway in the third instalment of the action series set in a galaxy far, far away. Although, given that season two has yet to get an actual air date on Disney+ (October is the likely time), expect season three to land before us at a time very far, far away indeed.
According to sources, pre-production is already well-underway over at Disney, and creator Jon Favreau has already been writing scripts in his downtime. The director has likely been working furiously on the next part of the 'Star Wars' spin-off ever since production wrapped on season two in early March - luckily just before productions were forced to shut down.
In regards to season two, exciting news has been travelling through the internet at light speed recently regarding the as-yet-unconfirmed cast of 'The Mandalorian'. As well as the return of Pedro Pascal in the titular role, season two of the series is believed to have recruited 'Luke Cage' actress Rosario Dawson as a fan-favourite character. Yet to make her live-action debut, Dawson has all but confirmed that she is set to play Ahsoka Tano.
With an October release set for season two, post-production is said to have not been tampered with too much over the past few weeks. Disney+ will likely make an announcement over the coming months of the official date the follow-up series will drop.
News of productions managing to still get work done during these times is incredible to hear, and gives us hope that production companies around the world will be ready to hit the ground running once everything goes back to normal.
