The official trailer for 'Bridgerton' has arrived and no doubt everyone will be watching it this Christmas.
The Netflix series follows the Bridgerton family as well as a number of their acquaintances, as they compete, form friendships, make enemies, and try to find love against the backdrop of London high society.
Meanwhile, the enigmatic Lady Whistledown, voiced by Julie Andrews, writes and distributes the gossip of the day, making everyone’s life that bit harder. (so there’s undoubtedly a bit of a clever nod to social media there)
It’s a period or costume drama so fans of Jane Austen adaptations will like it.
Shonda Rhimes, who was also behind 'Grey’s Anatomy', 'Scandal', and 'How to Get Away with Murder', is the producer, so fans of her previous works should like this too as there are tonal similarities.
Nicola Coughlan stars in the series, much to the delight of 'Derry Girls' fans.
Other cast members include Phoebe Dynevor, Regé-Jean Page, Jonathan Bailey, Claudia Jessie, Ruby Barker, Adjoa Andoh, Golda Rosheuvel, Luke Thompson, Luke Newton, Ruby Stokes, Will Tilston, Florence Hunt, Ruth Gemmell, Bessie Carter, Harriet Cains, Polly Walker, Ben Miller, Sabrina Bartlett, Martins Imhangbe and Lorraine Ashbourne.
'Bridgerton' premieres on Netflix on December 25th.
