X Factor winner Alexandra Burke's cover of 'Hallelujah' is almost certainly going to be the UK's Christmas Number 1.
Midweek sales figures have seen the 20-year-old's debut single break the record previously held by Leona Lewis for her song 'A Moment Like This' in 2006. Burke has already trounced Lewis's record by selling 149,546 copies of 'Hallelujah' in just two days, compared to 139,000 over seven days.
It also broke the record of Europe's fastest-selling download in one day, also previously held by Lewis.
However, we at Entertainment.ie REFUSE to believe that it's too late for Ireland, despite the signs. Join our campaign to get Jape's Phil Lynott to the top of the charts - see here for details.
