Wyclef Jean in the the process of writing his autobiography, which will cover his whole life, from ‘his childhood in rural Haiti to his musical career and philanthropic work’.

Wylcef has engaged in a number on charity projects in his native Haiti, most notable the establishment of Yele Haiti, a foundation which provided scholarships to Haitian children after the devastation by Hurricane Jeanne.

The rap superstar and former Fugees frontman is collaborating with Rolling Stone writer Anthony Bozza on the book, which has yet to be titled. Though a release date has not yet been set, the book will be published by It Books, and imrpit of Harper Collins.

Wylcef is to release his new album, ‘wyclefjean’, in February 2010, featuring Lil’ Wayne on the single ‘Seventeen’. He is also collaborating with DJ Drama on a hip hop miztape entitled, ‘From the Hut To The Projects To The Mansion’.
