Live Nation have been subjected to a pretty unique lawsuit from a concertgoer who claims to have suffered around 1000 splinters on her posterior during a Englebert Humperdinck gig.

The incident happened, as per the New York Post, at the NYCB Theatre on Long Island, New York, in 2011 when Linda Vanston slid down a bench to make room for a fellow Humperdinck fan and "was not aware that the bench had exposed sharp shards of wood sticking out of it", according to Vanston's lawyer Rosemarie Arnold.

The incident led to around 1000 splinters becoming stuck in Vanston's buttocks and thighs, which caused "mobility issues" and forced her to undergo a course of injections to ease the pain.

Concert promoters Live Nation own the venue in question and are therefore subject to the lawsuit, which is seeking "unspecified damages". Somewhat unspurprisingly, Live Nation have yet to comment on the incident.

We always thought that Englebert Humperdinck was something of a pain in the hoop but this wasn't exactly what we had in mind.
