Manic Street Preachers will take over Dublin's Olympia Theatre on September 20th next, just days after the release of their new album Rewind The Film.

The Welsh rockers are said to be in a more reflective mood than in previous releases on this, their eleventh album on Columbia Records with lead singer James Dean Bradfield having said that he took inspiration from figures like Big Country's late guitarist Stuart Adamson, Welsh poet RS Thomas and even famed documentarian Werner Herzog.

Incidentally, Manic Street Preachers made the headlines just last week when British & Irish Lions centre (and fellow Welshman) Jamie Roberts joined his compatriots on stage for a rendition of their song 'You Love Us'. The new Racing Metro player described it as "the best five minutes of my life" and admitted to "adoring" the band when he was growing up.

Tickets to the Dublin gig will go on sale this Friday (12th) at 9.30am, priced at €33.50.

We have a pair of tickets to the Olympia show to give away. To enter, surf on over to our competitions section and answer the (very simple) question!
