Former Black Eyed Pea Will.I.Am has confirmed that a music sample on a new song of his 'Let's Go' was used without permission from its original artist. The song, which features Chris Brown on guest vocals, used music composed by Russian producer DJ Arty, who accused of Will.I.Am of stealing his work on Twitter last week.

The two songs are virtually identical, as you can hear below in this comparison.

Will.I.Am attempted to explain himself when questioned about the similarity of the two songs on US radio station KIIS-FM.

"Arty is a dope producer so I wrote this song to 'Rebound' this last year", Will.I.Am said. "I got in touch with Arty and showed it to him, did a different version to it because I asked him [to] make it newer because I don't just wanna take your song and rap over it.

"We preferred writing over and using the [original] 'Rebound'. Something happened [with] the clearance. Hopefully we resolved the issue."

However DJ Arty claimed on his Twitter account on April 16th that no one representing Will.I.Am had worked out any deal with regard to the song's rights.

'Let's Go' features on Will.I.Am's newest album #willpower. Read our review here.
