The White Stripes are auctioning a custom made marimba to help raise money for victims of the recent flooding in Nashville.

The red and white instrument was built specially for Jack & Meg White's 'Get Behind Me Satan' tour. It was used for the track 'The Nurse', and in at least one live rendition of 'The Denial Twist'. The instrument made its live debut in a Mexico show in Monterrey in May 2005, and the pair continued to use it until March 2006, when Jack White flipped it over onstage in Osaka, Japan. It has been kept in its case ever since. The red, white and black flight case was also custom made, and is included in the auction

Almost two dozen people were killed after severe storms devastated Nashville this Month. In aid of those left homeless, The White Stripes marimba is up for auction on eBay and will stay there until May 24th. The current bid stands at US$5301.
