'Hash Pipe' is undoubtedly one of Weezer's biggest (and best) songs - but it all could have worked out very differently for the rock band.

Originally, according to a new interview with frontman Rivers Cuomo, the song was offered to none other than Ozzy Osbourne himself.

For whatever reason, the Prince of Darkness turned down the track and the band ended up recording it themselves for their Green Album.

"Once, I think it was in 2000, [Osbourne] asked if I had any songs for him, and I just happened to have written 'Hash Pipe'," Cuomo revealed in the interview with Guitar World. "I sent it to him, but he didn’t end up using it. In another reality, it might be interesting to hear him singing that song."

We're certainly up for hearing that version.

Weezer were due to play Dublin this summer on their 'Hella Mega' tour with Green Day and Fall Out Boy - but that date has now been postponed to June 27th 2022.
