The Strokes frontman Julian Casablancas has debuted a brief clip to build some hype for his upcoming solo project Julian Casablancas + The Voidz. Have a listen above.

Little to no solid information has been released thus far, other than the name of the outfit, so we're still waiting for something concrete as to exactly when we'll be able to wrap our ears around the finished article. However, visitors to Casablancas' official website are being offered the chance to pre-order the record which suggests that it'll see the light of day sooner rather than later.

Various members of The Strokes have now released solo material and, partly owing to the well-known fractious relationship which exists between the band members, questions have been asked in the not-so-distant past whether The Strokes are still an active band. Their last show together came in November of 2011 after a tour which saw them play in the middle of a rainstorm in the fields of Oxegen that same year. However, they are scheduled to play at the Governor's Ball in New York in June alongside Outkast.

The Strokes released their most recent album Comedown Machine last year but didn't do any press or touring in relation to it which only added fuel to the fire that they were near to calling it a day and solo projects like Casablancas' only adds further fuel to that fire.
