Meat Loaf has been taken to hospital following his collapse during a concert in the Canadian city of Edmonton last night.

The 68-year-old singer, real name Michael Lee Aday, had cancelled two concerts in recent days, citing ill health as the reason - but it seems that whatever condition is plaguing him is ongoing.

Video footage of the gig shows the Bat Out of Hell singer dropping the microphone stand during 'I Would Do Anything for Love (But I Won't Do That)' and collapsing to the ground, while his bandmate rush to his aid.

His condition is as yet unknown. Let's hope it's nothing serious.

Update: According to Vulture, a representative for Meat Loaf has said he's now "stable and in good condition" at a local hospital, and that he collapsed from "severe dehydration", adding that he "extends his heartfelt thanks for everyone's support and well wishes, and is expecting a speedy and full recovery."
