Lily Allen's 'retirement' from music has ended as she has released her first original song since 2009 - and in it she squarely takes aim at Robin Thicke and the current influx of misogyny in modern pop music. Have a gander below.

The song, called 'Hard Out Here', makes a particular reference to the popularity of the word 'bitch' in popular culture, with the chorus stating: "Forget your balls and grow a pair of tits, it's hard out there for a bitch" and as for the reference to Robin Thicke's now infamous video for 'Blurred Lines'....well, we'll let you discover that for yourself.

Allen will release a brand new album next year, a record which she stated earlier this year will have some "feminist vibes coming on."

"It's not an earnest 'I'm a mum' kind of record", Allen was quoted by NME as saying. "It's empowering. There's some feminist vibes going on. It's the same old me with a bit of swearing going on. Good choruses, key changes here and there - that's it!"
