Led Zeppelin fans (a category which your writer falls squarely within, by the way) are in for a treat this year as the band's legendary guitarist Jimmy Page begins to release a remastered version of Zeppelin's back catalogue.

Among the "new" material to come from the Led Zeppelin camp is video for the band's seminal hit 'Whole Lotta Love', a rough mix of the track recording during the eight-month session which eventually led to the band's second album Led Zeppelin II.

The track is without some of the now famous overdubs many listeners will have come to known and, as bassist John Paul Jones says, "it hadn't developed into the juggernaut it became in later years. But it's fresher, I think."

Singer Robert Plant added: " You can see how songs grow. There are five or six other takes which aren't present, so the shaping of these things is very interesting. With this particular version, we hadn't reached the point yet, but it's very, very close."

The first three reissued albums will be available from May 30th.
