We could probably all agree, however, that it's generally a harmless dance move - but not so in Saudi Arabia.

Dabbing has been banned in the Middle Eastern country by its Interior Ministry’s National Commission For Combating Drugs, as they view it as a reference to marijuana culture.

Abdallah Al Shahani, a Saudi singer/TV host and actor, found out how seriously they were enforcing the rule to his chagrin last week, after he was arrested for dabbing during a concert, according to the BBC.

He later issued an apology via Twitter, saying: "“I apologize to our respected government and to my audience for unintentionally and spontaneously making the dance move at Taif festival. Please accept my apology.”
