Villagers this morning released a trailer revealing some details about the band's upcoming second album. {Awayland}, the follow-up to the Mercury and Choice prize nominated Becoming A Jackal, will be released on January 13th next on Domino Records.

An intriguing teaser trailer for the new record also hit the web this morning, made my filmmaker Sébastien Escalante.

Villagers have been playing a host new material at their recent live engagements. Tracks like 'My Lighthouse' and 'Earthly Pleasures' were noted by entertainment.ie at the Body & Soul festival as being particularly impressive.

{Awayland} was engineered, produced and mixed at Attica Audio in Donegal by Conor J. O'Brien and Villagers' guitarist Tommy McLaughlin.

The first single to be taken from {Awayland} is The Waves which will be released on 22nd October 2012.

Conor O'Brien and co. will play Whelan's in Dublin and the Black Box in Belfast in November. Full tour dates here.
