The Spice Girls are officially no more, according to reports emerging from the tabloids today. Geri Halliwell, Mel B, Mel C and Emma Bunton have called time on the pop group after learning that Victoria Beckham wasn't keen on the idea of a 2014 reunion tour.
Geri Halliwell is said to have been the driving force behind the reunion plans. Victoria's lack of enthusiasm led the plans to centre around a fourpiece tour culminating in a final gig at Wembley Stadium, but after a series of meetings they realised the capital wasn't there.
Another factor was whether the public would accept a Spice Girls line-up deficient of Posh Spice, a figure who still attracts significant media attention. Beckham is understood to have been vital to the last Spice Girls tour, brining in various sponsorships to lower costs.
