What could potentially be the biggest gig of the summer has just been announced as two of the biggest names in hip-hop, Kanye West and Pharrell Williams, have confirmed a date in Dublin's Marlay Park this coming July 2nd.

A potential live date from Kanye had been mooted on social media in the past few days but the addition of Pharrell Williams will come as something of a surprise to most. Williams has had something of a musical Midas touch recently, with almost everything he gets himself involved in heading straight to the top of the charts. He was involved in two of 2013's biggest songs ('Get Lucky' and 'Blurred Lines') and, more recently, bagged as Oscar nomination for his tune 'Happy' which featured on the Frozen soundtrack.

Kanye, of course, is one of the most enigmatic live performers in the world - and wouldn't hesitate for a moment to inform you of just that. The July 2 date in Dublin will come just weeks after the rapper ties the knot with Kim Kardashian and you can expect both her and their offspring North West to be in Dublin for a day or two. Dublin Zoo, anyone?

West, who has won a frankly unreasonable amount of Grammy Awards (21), was last in town as part of another hip-hop tandem when he and Jay Z brought their Watch The Throne tour to Dublin's O2.

Tickets will cost you €59.50 (incl. booking fee) are on sale at 9am on Friday 11th April.
