Having just released their twelfth studio album, and first in five years, No Line On The Horizon, U2 (seen here starting their Letterman residency last night... and shoveling snow afterwards...) have announced that they will be releasing another before the end of the year.

According to NME.com, the release will be a companion album to No Line On The Horizon, though the band have admitted it will be more meditative than the current album. It'll be interesting to see what the boys come out with, as No Line On The Horizon is already quite a bit more meditative than previous efforts.

The band are rumoured to have lined up several nights in Croke Park this summer as part of their forthcoming European tour, but exact dates have yet to be announced.
