When one of the biggest bands on the planet launches a mysterious countdown to a 'special announcement', you can't help but wonder what big news they have up their sleeve.
We ourselves were speculating that U2 might be announcing a tour for 2024, confirmation of their rumoured Las Vegas residency or even a release date for
However, it turned out that the 'big news' was just a run of dates at New York's Beacon Theatre for Bono and his 'Surrender' book tour.
It left a lot of fans feeling short-changed, particularly as it's only relevant news to those living in North America - and considering how Bono has done just one date in his hometown of Dublin.

This fan club just gets worse and worse. A countdown announcement for some book shows the other side of the planet to where I live? You really haven’t read the room lately…woeful!

A book signing by Bono the author, wow that ''Big announcement'' really puts real rock bands/musicians in the shade

I know that some people are upset by the announcement of Bono’s surrender shows being only in one city and it not being a new tour or a new album but the amount of hate I’m seeing 😒
