Russian police have detained health and rights awareness activists in Moscow where U2 were playing a concert. Police ejected not only Amnesty International activists but also volunteers from U2's own charity fund, the ONE campaign against the spread of HIV, said a Greenpeace spokesman. Bono had previously had an official meeting with Russian President Dmitry Medvedev to discuss the HIV problem. Sergei Nikitin, head of Amnesty International's Russian branch said "I'm very sad about what happened. I do not know if Bono knew about what happened to us, but I fear that he did not."
