Just weeks since it emerged that Phantom FM was forced to lay-off a number of staff in a bid to reduce costs, the station has completed a rebranding. The new station, known as TXFM, will broadcast from the same 105.2 FM frequency as it did under its former alias when it launches at the end of March.

A selection of staff from the former Phantom FM have been retained, while the staff who were laid-off are expected to finish up next week. The station's ethos will remain largely unchanged from its previous Phantom FM identity, with an emphasis placed upon alternative and rock music as well as new alignment with Today FM.

As per information released by the station, "the key component of this plan is working in greater unison with Today FM, in terms of capitalising on its commercial strength and presence in the Irish radio market. The focus of the new station will continue to be alternative and indie (rock) music. The station’s ownership structure will remain unchanged."

The personnel involved in TXFM have also been revealed, with former Phantom favourite Claire Beck retaining a drivetime slot. There will also be regular weekday slots for Cathal Funge, Joe Donnelly and Kelly-Ann Byrne, while music blogger Nialler9 and musician Gavin Glass are among those who'll present weekly slots.
