The Smashing Pumpkins have been churning out the choons for more than twenty-five years now (more or less) and it doesn't look like they're going to stop any time soon - NME report that the band are set to release not one but two albums in 2015.

Monuments to an Elegy and Day for Night will be produced by long-time Pumpkins collaborator Howard Willing with Billy Corgan saying yesterday that 'recording sessions begin today, as plenty of songs have been written and are ready to go.'

Writing on the Smashing Pumpkins website, the frontman says that fans should expect 'guitars, guitars, guitars, and more guitars; but more so on the epic side of things than say, grossly metallic.'

He also invites those interested to follow the band on their new 'nexus' tentatively entitled The Panopticon 'which through its simplicity should better address the speed of modern life.' Thanks Pumpkins, how considerate!

No need for fretting if you think you can't wait until next year for your Smashing Pumpkins fix, Corgan also revealed that they expect a single release by the end of 2014.
