NI indie rockers Two Door Cinema Club pulled off a surprise, but well deserved win at this year's Choice Music Prize. The County Down three piece beat off stiff competition from Cathy Davey, Halves, O Emperor and favourites Villagers to win the coveted Irish Album of the Year 2010 with their album Tourist History(Kitsune label).

The 12 strong judging panel, which included Dave Fanning, Ray D'Arcy and Michelle Doherty, oversaw the Choice Prize Live Event at Vicar St. Award contenders Adebisi Shank put in a great live performance, as did the Cast of Cheers, which had Morrissey in attendance. It was Two Door Cinema Club however that triumphed for last year's highly rated Tourist History album, winning €10,000 in the process - which they promptly donated to charity. Thumbs up guys!
