Two Door Cinema Club will play a special intimate show at The Academy on Friday the 7th September.

The Northern Irish band, who release their highly anticipated new album 'Beacon' on the 3rd of September, announced the gig for fans to showcase the new record. 'Beacon' is the follow up to the bands 2010 album 'Tourist History' and was recorded with acclaimed producer Jacknife Lee. The result is 'an ambitious and heartfelt selection of tracks showcasing a stunning depth of songwriting and a broader, maturer sound'.

Speaking about the album the band said 'Beacon is a much more intimate record than our first, but at the same time, it's much bigger and more inclusive. Trying to find that balance has been our goal for a long time and this record takes us one step closer to the band we've dreamt of becoming.'

Last week also saw Alex Trimble band frontman sing 'Caliban's Dream' at the Olympics opening ceremony as a group of athletes carried the torch around the stadium.

Tickets for the gig at The Academy go on sale this Friday 3rd August at 9am nationwide. Tickets are €20 including booking fee
