Twitter, the world's new trendy social networking doo-hickey, have organised a campaign to raise money for Charity: Water, which aims to bring clean, safe water to developing countries.

Twestival, the global Twitter charity, has organised the campaign in which artists donate songs to stream online. So far, donating artists include Bloc Party, Mystery Jets, The Rakes, Erol Alkan, Imogen Heap and Bonde de Role. The general public will have access to the music from today, February 5th, for two weeks until February 19th. Listeners are invited to give a donation to the charity, but all donations are voluntary and the amount is left to your discretion.

There will also be Twestival Festivals held in 160 cities across the globe on February 12th, in a bid to raise awareness for the project.
