It's the relationship which has dominated the celebrity news columns over the last few months - but despite their numerous appearances and PDAs, neither Travis Kelce nor Taylor Swift have gone into detail about how they met.

Now, however, the NFL star who nobody had heard of prior to September has opened up on his newfound global fame, as well as discussing his relationship with the pop superstar.

If you were wondering how the pair first got together, Kelce gave a revealing interview to the Wall Street Journal where he spilled the beans.

Having previously revealed in a podcast interview that their first encounter was backstage at Swift's Eras tour date at the Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City - where he plays with his NFL team the Kansas City Chiefs - he told the WSJ: "There were definitely people she knew that knew who I was, in her corner (who said): Yo! Did you know he was coming?'," he said of their first meeting at the concert. "I had somebody playing Cupid. She told me exactly what was going on and how I got lucky enough to get her to reach out.”

He added: "She’ll probably hate me for saying this, but … when she came to Arrowhead, they gave her the big locker room as a dressing room, and her little cousins were taking pictures … in front of my locker."

Later, they met in New York and had a "nice dinner" and felt "what goes from there will go from there".

In the interview, he described Swift as "hilarious" and "a genius" and praised her family values, adding how he had been getting used to the attention that their relationship had generated.

"I've never dealt with it… But at the same time, I’m not running away from any of it," he said. "The scrutiny she gets, how much she has a magnifying glass on her, every single day, paparazzi outside her house, outside every restaurant she goes to, after every flight she gets off, and she’s just living, enjoying life. When she acts like that, I better not be the one acting all strange."
