Blink 182 sticksman Travis Barker has pulled out of an upcoming tour of Australia after admitting he is still battling a phobia of flying stemming from a crash he was in which killed four.

Barker received second and third degree burns after the 2008 crash between South Carolina and California. Barker's friend DJ AM also survived the incident but died two years later following an accidental drug overdose. It is understood that Barker hasn't flown since.

Barker had been travelling to overseas Blink 182 concerts via boat but this isn't an option for the upcoming tour down under.

He explained further: "I'm sorry to announce I won't be joining Blink 182 on this Australian tour. I still haven't gotten over the horrific events that place the last time I flew when my plane crashed and four people were killed, two being my best friends. I gave the band my blessing to take another drummer if they still wanted to do the tour without me. I hope to come to Australia again someday, perhaps by ship if need be. Unfortunately, there wasn't a boat that worked with the schedule this time around. Once again, I'm sorry to all the fans."
