Anti-Records has announced that Tom Waits is working on a new stage musical to premiere in Paris next year.

In Bruges director Martin McDonagh, who is also well known for his work as a playwright, is set to contribute to the project. Last year, McDonagh was nominated for an Oscar for Best Original Screenplay for the Colin Farrell and Brendan Gleeson starring crime caper.

The as yet untitled piece will be directed by Robert Wilson, who also brought Waits' last three efforts, The Black Rider, Alice In Wonderland and Woyzeck, to life.
