The Wanted star Tom Parker has passed away aged 33 after battling a brain tumour for the last number of years.
Parker's wife Kelsey confirmed the news this afternoon, saying "it is with the heaviest of hearts that we confirm Tom passed away peacefully earlier today with all of his family by his side."
"Tom was the centre of our world and we can’t imagine life without his infectious smile and energetic presence."
"We are truly thankful for the outpouring of love and support and ask that we all unite to ensure Tom’s light continues to shine for his beautiful children."
The singer had been diagnosed with a brain tumour in 2020 and had previously disclosed that his diagnosis was terminal.
Parker documented his treatment in a documentary for Channel 4 last year titled 'Tom Parker: Inside My Head', where he discussed his treatment and had expressed hope that the treatment was working.
In the documentary, Parker said "I don’t want people to treat me different just because I’ve got something, I think that was always on my mind.’
Parker had been undergoing treatment in Spain for his condition, and had previously undergone numerous rounds of chemotherapy and radiotherapy.
Parker wrote a book about experiences, and the book is planned for release in July.
Parker was part of the British-Irish boyband The Wanted who shot to fame in the early 2010's with hits such as 'Glad You Came', 'All Time Low' and 'Lightning'.
The band parted ways in 2014 but had recently reunited, with Parker performing on stage while sitting on a throne.
