Good news for fans of up-and-coming indie acts - the kind that you might catch if you're a regular at one of Dublin's most famous live music venues, Whelan's, for example: the Whelan's Live stage is returning to Longitude this weekend.

If you've been to the festival before, you'll be aware that the Whelan's Live stage is a particularly nicely-sized stage that allows you to get up close and personal with your favourite acts.

Some of the names set to grace the stage across the weekend include Lucius, alt-folk duo Bear’s Den, British singer-songwriter Izzy Bizzu, Daithí, We Cut Corners, Saint Sister, Pleasure Beach, Perfume Genius, Otherkin, Swedish rockers Elias, Marlon Williams, Declan McKenna, Shura, Zimbabwe-born British musician Rationale and folk trio Joseph.

Local battle of the bands competition winners Depth Perception and Félim will open the stage on Friday and Saturday night respectively. The two acts were chosen as winners of CANVAS, the Grainstore’s Youth Arts Committee, Battle of the Bands. Each winner was chosen by public vote of those who attended the recent final of the competition at the Grainstore, Cabinteely.
