Scottish band The Vaselines, favourites of Kurt Cobain, are to reform to play festival this summer.

Founding members and main songwriters Eugene Kelly and Frances McKee played their first set in 16 years in 2006, when they toured together briefly to promote their solo projects.

Now the duo are set to play the Tigerfest festival in Dunfermline, Scotland on May 16th, with bassist James Seenan and drummer Charlie Kelly. Members of Belle and Sebastian will support their live set. They'll also play the 20th Anniversary celebrations of Sub Pop Records in Seattle this July.

It is not yet know whether more tour dates are in the offing.
