If you've got tickets for one of Ed Sheeran's Irish tour dates next month, no doubt you'll be wondering whether it's worth turning up early to see the support.

Well, the opening act for the entire tour - which takes in Dublin, Cork, Galway and Belfast - has been revealed, and it's a name that Sheerios will be well familiar with at this stage.

Sheeran's friend - and still the only man signed to his Gingerbread Man label - Jamie Lawson will do the honours.

The 'Wasn't Expecting That' singer will open for Sheeran on the following dates (all of which are sold out):
